A Cat in the Hat Halloween by Dolores Pepper
A cat in the hat, could be, if your cat will be helping you pass out Halloween treats this year you need to get that cat in a hat, a pirate hat that is! Your cat might not be ringer for Captain Jack Sparrow but he or she can look just as dashing in a cute little cat pirate hat. Does your cat have a first mate? Your dog can get in the swashbuckling action as well with a pirate costume made just for them. With a smart hat and a gold trim jacket your dog will be king of the high seas.
Now some cats will walk on leashes but more than likely you will take your dog trick-or-treating with you. If your dog is not in the mood to be a pirate there’s plenty of other cute or scary costumes made just for Fido. Perhaps your dog may feel more comfortable as a little devil, a caveman, a smart looking fire dog, and one of my favorites a cowboy dog with a rider on top.
If you have a pretty little girl dog she’d make a lovely lady bug. Or even a pretty little pink hippy chic, perhaps a darling pumpkin. Of course anything that boy dogs can do girl dogs can do better. So you aren’t limited to the girly stuff.
For the dog that really doesn’t like to wear outfits but are used to wearing collars they make Halloween scrunchies in several varieties so your dog can still enjoy the Halloween festivities. Find scary, silly and spooky pet costumes at the Halloween Shop!
If you take your dog trick-or-treating follow some simple rules. Make sure that your dog truly is a friendly dog, not a nervous dog because they may accidentally bite a child when they come up to him.
Dogs in costumes are irresistible, folks just can’t help themselves from wanting to pet your pooch.
If for some reason while walking your dog nature calls be sure you bring a bag to clean up the mess. Nothing would be worse than having a child step in dog mess and I’m sure you would want it to happen to your child.
Of course giving candy to pets is not a good idea be sure to pick up some special treats for your animal. A word to the wise do not leave your candy on the couch after you’ve sorted through it. We found out our dachshund loved candy especially Heath bars. We never thought he would jump on the couch and eat the candy, we were very fortunate he didn’t get sick but we never made that mistake again. Enjoy and safe and Happy Halloween with the whole family.
